Bach Stradivarius C180SML239 C Trumpet W/ Corp. Bell, New ProTec Double Case!

Bach Stradivarius C-Trumpet For Sale! This is a model C180SML239—a medium large bore, silver plated horn in the key of C. This is the version with the 239 bell for a big, rich, dark fat sound compared to the 229, and the 25C leadpipe which gives a good tone center without the breathiness of the 25H. S/n 710XX makes this a vintage 1973, and it has the sought-after Corporation bell.  It is in excellent condition:  silver plate about 98% with just a couple tiny spots of wear in places that are hard to see as seen in the photos.  Tiny scattered dings and scratches and signs of past dent removal mostly on the bell taper and flare, but very nicely done and barely noticeable as you can see in the photos.  Unlike most of the C Strads you might be looking at, this one has just been through the shop where it was chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, lubed, polished and had all new tuning slide O-rings, water key cork and piston felts installed.  Valves are fast and smooth and quiet with near perfect compression that measures 0.1 on the leak detector when freshly lubed—unheard of in a vintage trumpet and better than most newer ones!  Note that this horn is oiled with SYNTHETIC (Hetman 3) oil, and you must use the same or thoroughly clean the pistons and casings prior to switching to a petroleum-based product.  All tuning slides are free.  Comes in a brand-new ProTec double case with strap and two triple mouthpiece pouches, and we have other case options (or no case at all options) available if you prefer.  On a side note, we’ll be listing a full set of Bach Bb slides today or tomorrow which will fit this and other ML C Strads.  Sells for $3,999 new, so . . . snatch up one from one of the most sought-after vintages ever, and still save almost $2,000!
