Buffet Crampon R13A Anniversary Year Clarinet W/ Valentino Overhaul

 
One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a vintage Buffet Crampon R13A in nickel plate. Note that this is in the key of A, but if you’re looking for a Bb, we’re also listing a twin to this one separately.  S/n 158XXX makes this roughly July of 1975—an unmarked 150th Anniversary year and one of the most sought-after years in Buffet history.  It is in exceptional condition:  wood is a nice, aged billet of grenadilla with a tight, straight grain and no chips, cracks pins or repairs.  Tenons are nice and square with no wobble between joints.  Nickel plating is about 99% with little wear at all.  Unlike most of the R13’s you might be looking at, this one is just through the shop in March 2025 where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, hand polished, lubed, had all new tenon corks installed, and was repadded with all new Valentino Master’s Series synthetic pads—one of the quietest, longest-lasting pads available.  A very dark clarinet which plays nicely across all registers with little resistance and a nice, soft feel to the keywork.  Includes a new SuperSlick chamois swab and new ProTec microfiber cloth.  All in the Buffet 150th Anniversary Edition double case which has a partially-torn sticker but is otherwise in excellent condition.  An exceptional A clarinet from one of the best periods ever in Buffet history in the nicest condition you’ll find!
