Inexpensive Buffet Crampon R13 Bb Clarinet

One of the least expensive Buffet Crampon R13 Bb clarinets we are offering for sale.  This one is serial number 248XXX, 1983.  The upper has been cracked and professionally repaired with several pins, and you can see the imperfections in the wood filling over the pins.  It is sealed properly with no leaks in the wood as tested on a magnehelic, and does not affect the instrument in any way other than to save you hundreds of dollars.  Silver plated rather than nickel (itself a $580 upgrade!) about 95% with just a little wear starting to show through the first layer on the tips of a couple keys.  The upper was ust through the shop where it was disassembled, cleaned, bore oiled, register tube removed and sealed, and repadded with Valentino Master’s Series synthetic pads—one of the longest-lasting, quietest pads available.  The lower appears to have been done not long ago by another shop in a combination of cork and what is likely Roo black leather pads which are all in excellent condition, and it needed little other than bore oiling and very minor adjustment.  Plays delightfully with a big, dark sound and even feel to the keywork.  Key oil and cork grease are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a very nice Woodwind Company LC3 (Larry Combs #3) hard rubber mouthpiece, a D. Bonade inverted ligature, a new SuperSlick chamois swab and new ProTec microfiber cloth.  All in a very nice pochette case with zippered case cover.  A great-playing R13 at hundreds less than most of our others, and more than $3,000 less than new!
