Vintage 1977 Buffet Crampon R13 Bb Clarinet

One of several professional clarinets we are offering for sale.  This is a vintage Buffet Crampon R13 Bb clarinet.  S/n 1800XX puts it at 1977—right at the end of Buffet’s Golden Era, and one of the best decades ever.  It is in excellent condition:  no chips, cracks or repairs, tenons are square with no wobble between joints, nickel plating about 99% with little wear at all.  The pads on this were in such good condition that we decided to keep the price down and not do a total overhaul.  It has just been bore oiled, had a couple pads and two tenon corks replaced, and been adjusted and brought up into excellent playing condition.  Like most 70’s Buffets, it plays with a huge, dark tone and open feel.  Cork grease is for local pickup only and won’t be shipped, but it does include a vintage Vandoren 5RV hard rubber mouthpiece, Buffet cap and ligature, and new Conn-Selmer swab.  All in a brand-new Kaces case with backpack straps, but we have dozens of other cases if you prefer a vintage, double, ProTec or some other option.  An exceptional horn from one of the most sought-after periods ever, and at about $2,500 less than brand new!
